CRACK SEALING

Hot crack sealing is a preventive maintenance technique used to extend the service life of asphalt pavement. It involves filling cracks in the pavement with a heated rubberized sealant, which helps to prevent water infiltration and further damage. The benefits of hot crack sealing include reducing future repair costs by addressing small issues before they escalate.  If performed correctly, hot crack sealing can keep cracks sealed for many years. One con of Hot crack sealing in parking lots is that the material remains soft & is prone to scuffing when vehicles make tight turns.

Cold crack sealing is another preventive maintenance technique used to fill cracks in asphalt surfaces with a flexible sealant, helping to protect the pavement from water infiltration and further damage. Cold crack sealant comes ready to install. This allows for a more cost effective installation. One con of cold crack sealing is that the material may hairline crack in a short time & does not remain as flexible hot crack sealing in the long-term.
